Sindh High Court Rejects Plea For Student Union Restoration

Jarida Report

The Sindh High Court has dismissed a petition seeking the restoration of student unions, imposing a fine on the petitioner during the hearing. During the proceedings, the court ordered the petitioner to deposit a fine of Rs10,000 with the Sindh High Court Clinic. The decision was announced after the petitioner failed to provide satisfactory responses to the court’s queries.

Justice Adnan-ul-Karim Memon, while making remarks during the hearing, questioned the intent behind restoring student unions. He observed that the education sector was already in a fragile state and asked why further disruption was being sought. The court also inquired about the purpose and benefits of student unions.
