Shaheen’s Lahore Qalandars Celebrate Third PSL Title with Record-Breaking Win

On May 25, 2025, the Lahore Qalandars clinched their third Pakistan Super League (PSL) title with a six-wicket victory over the Quetta Gladiators at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. This triumph marks their third PSL championship in four years, solidifying their status as one of the league’s most successful franchises.

  • The Gladiators posted a formidable total of 201/9, propelled by Hasan Nawaz’s explosive 76 off 43 balls. 
  • In response, the Qalandars achieved a record-breaking chase of 202 runs—the highest successful chase in a PSL final—reaching 204/4 with one ball to spare. 
  • Key contributions came from Kusal Perera, who remained unbeaten on 62, and Mohammad Naeem, who scored 46. 
  • All-rounder Sikandar Raza, who arrived just 10 minutes before the match after representing Zimbabwe in a Test against England, played a pivotal role by scoring 22 runs off 7 balls, sealing the victory with a match-winning six. 
  • Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi led from the front, taking 3 wickets for 24 runs, and was instrumental in the team’s success throughout the tournament.
