Earlier today a security alert was posted on US Embassy & Consulates In Pakistan that said “The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad and the U.S. Consulates General in Lahore, Karachi, and Peshawar are monitoring planned large-scale religious processions across Pakistan. Beginning March 10 at 12:00 p.m., the movements of all U.S. personnel will be restricted”.
They also advised their citizens to “avoid large gatherings” and to “be aware of surroundings” as well as keep up with local news and media. this security alert has been posted on social media platforms such as “X” on their official accounts. All scheduled appointments will still take place in Islamabad and citizens will be contacted and notified if a change occurs in their appointments.
