Schoolchildren Swept Away in Devastating South Africa Floods

Heavy rains and snow from a severe cold front hit South Africa’s Eastern Cape, causing floods that swept away a minibus carrying high school students near Mthatha. Search and rescue operations are underway after at least eight bodies were recovered, while three children were saved after clinging to trees  . Six people died in Mthatha and one near Tsolo; another five were killed in a minibus accident avoiding a fallen tree  . Authorities warn of ongoing disruptive weather and have mobilised disaster teams  .
