SC Directs ATCs to Conclude May 9 Riots Cases Within Four Months

On April 8, 2025, the Supreme Court of Pakistan directed Anti-Terrorism Courts (ATCs) to conclude trials of individuals implicated in the May 9, 2023, riots within four months. The court also mandated that ATCs submit progress reports to the chief justices of their respective high courts every 15 days. These directives aim to expedite legal proceedings related to the violent events following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
