Rubio Demands Iran Halt All Uranium Enrichment, Allow Full U.S. Oversight

Jarida Report

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has asserted that Iran must completely cease uranium enrichment and long-range missile development, and allow American inspectors access to all nuclear facilities, including military sites. He emphasized that Iran should import enriched uranium for civilian nuclear energy instead of producing it domestically, arguing that even low-level enrichment could quickly escalate to weapons-grade levels. These demands come amid stalled nuclear negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, with a scheduled fourth round of talks in Rome postponed pending changes in the U.S. approach. Iran maintains that its enrichment activities are permitted under the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and denies pursuing nuclear weapons. President Donald Trump has threatened military action if a resolution is not reached.
