Punjab Launches Civil Defence Drills to Boost Emergency Preparedness

On May 8, 2025, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz initiated large-scale civil defence and Rescue 1122 mock drills across the province. These exercises, covering cities such as Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sahiwal, Multan, and Muzaffargarh, aim to enhance emergency preparedness amid heightened security concerns. The drills focus on evacuation procedures, first aid, firefighting, and bomb disposal. The CM emphasized continuous vigilance and coordination among civil defence, police, and rescue services to ensure public safety.
