The Punjab government has announced measures to control the prices of essential commodities during Ramazan, aiming to alleviate financial pressures on citizens. Special Assistant to the Chief Minister, Salma Butt, detailed that staple vegetables like tomatoes, onions, and potatoes will be priced below Rs100 per kilogram. Additionally, the cost of dates is expected to decrease from Rs525 to Rs485 per kilogram. The price of a 10kg flour bag will be set at Rs1,680, down from the previous Rs2,710. Sugar prices are to be fixed at Rs130 per kilogram in collaboration with sugar mills. These efforts are part of the Ramazan Nigehban Relief Package, with commodities available at even lower rates in Ramazan Sahulat bazaars across Punjab.
