On April 14, 2025, Punjab’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) announced the arrest of 10 terrorists affiliated with banned organizations during 189 intelligence-based operations across the province. The operations, conducted in districts including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Jhelum, and Bahawalpur, involved the interrogation of 189 suspects. Among those arrested were individuals linked to groups such as Fitna Khawarij and Al-Zainabiyoun. Notably, Suraj Singh and Badal Singh, apprehended in Rawalpindi, were found in possession of significant quantities of explosives and are residents of Nankana Sahib. The CTD seized 2,645 grams of explosives, 16 detonators, 37 feet of safety fuse wire, 75 pamphlets of banned organizations, mobile phones, and cash. The arrested individuals had planned attacks on key buildings in Rawalpindi and other cities. Nine cases have been registered, and further investigations are underway.
