PTI’s Junaid Akbar Elected PAC Chairman Unopposed

: Junaid Akbar Khan, a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The PAC is a key parliamentary body with the authority to summon individuals and records from government departments concerning financial matters. The position had been vacant since the general elections in February 2024. Notable figures, including Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan, and Senator Shibli Faraz, proposed Akbar’s name for the role. Akbar expressed gratitude to the committee members for their support and emphasized his commitment to working collaboratively with them.
