President Asif Ali Zardari met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, at Zabeel Palace. The two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations, with a focus on expanding economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE.
President Zardari congratulated the UAE premier on two decades of leadership as Ruler of Dubai and commended Dubai’s remarkable transformation into a global centre for tourism, finance, and emerging technologies. Both sides exchanged views on benefiting from Dubai’s development experience, particularly in ports, logistics, infrastructure, information technology, and digital financial services.
