PM Shehbaz to Visit Four Friendly Nations from May 25–30
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to embark on a diplomatic tour from May 25 to 30, visiting Turkiye, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan. The Foreign Office announced that the trip aims to engage in “wide-ranging discussions” on bilateral relations and regional and international matters. A key objective is to express gratitude for the support these nations extended to Pakistan during the recent escalation with India.
The visit follows a U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Pakistan and India after a brief military confrontation. Notably, during the conflict, Iran’s foreign minister visited both countries to mediate.
Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz will attend the International Conference on Glaciers in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, from May 29 to 30.
Earlier this week, the Prime Minister appointed Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to lead a high-level diplomatic delegation to major world capitals, including London, Washington, Paris, and Brussels. The delegation’s mission is to counter Indian propaganda and highlight efforts to destabilize regional peace.
