PM Shehbaz Reassures U.S. Investors of Business-Friendly Policies in Pakistan

On January 29, 2025, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a delegation of U.S. investors led by hedge fund manager Gentry Beach in Islamabad. During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s strategic location, skilled workforce, and expanding consumer market, reaffirming the government’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment with streamlined processes and robust institutional support. Gentry Beach expressed enthusiasm for exploring investment opportunities in sectors such as mining, renewable energy, infrastructure, and technology, acknowledging the government’s pro-investment policies and expressing confidence in Pakistan’s economic growth. He also highlighted plans to invest billions of dollars in various areas, including critical minerals, real estate, energy, and technology, aiming to develop high-end luxury properties and other ventures in Pakistan.
