Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir on Thursday held a crucial meeting ahead of the key US-Iran talks being held in Islamabad. PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Munir expressed satisfaction at the decrease in regional tensions so far after the effective diplomatic role played by Pakistan.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who also serves as Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, met Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House. The meeting reviewed progress in Pakistan’s mediation efforts to achieve sustainable peace in the region.
Both PM Shehbaz and CDF Munir stressed that all parties must maintain peace and uphold the ceasefire.
