Today, The Peshawar High Court (PHC) ordered the Additional Advocate General (AAG) to confirm KPK Governor Faisal Karim Kundi’s availability for administering the oath to Sohail Afridi, the newly elected chief minister. The order was in the petition filed by members of the provincial assembly, under Article 255 of the Constitution, seeking immediate swearing-in of the new chief minister.
That same petition included the court nominating an alternative to the Governor, such as the speaker, to administer the oath if the governor was unavailable. The Court has told the AAG to update it on the matter before 1pm today
