Jarida Report

On April 17, 2025, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir emphasized that the peace and liberty currently enjoyed in Pakistan are the direct result of the sacrifices made by the nation’s soldiers. He made these remarks during an investiture ceremony at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where military honours such as the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred upon officers and soldiers for their exceptional valour and distinguished service. Posthumous awards were received by the families of the martyrs.

General Munir paid tribute to the martyrs and veterans, stating that their honour is a sacred trust for every Pakistani. He also acknowledged the resilience and fortitude of the martyrs’ families and commended the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies for their unwavering resolve in counterterrorism efforts. This ceremony follows recent statements by General Munir reaffirming the state’s determination to counter terrorism and remove obstacles to Pakistan’s progress.
