The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the national squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, with Mohammad Rizwan appointed as captain and Salman Ali Agha as vice-captain. Notably, Saim Ayub was excluded due to an ankle injury. The squad includes three members from the 2017 title-winning team: Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, and Fakhar Zaman. Fakhar returns after overcoming injury and illness that had sidelined him since June 2024. Selectors emphasized a “horses for courses” approach, choosing players who excelled in domestic competitions. The PCB has until February 11 to make any changes to the squad; thereafter, replacements will only be permitted on medical grounds, subject to ICC approval.
