Parents, teachers can educate children about use of internet

I believe that internet has transformed our world into a global village. Some argue that the internet has ruined lives, particularly those who have never had a chance to surf it. Decades ago, the atom bomb wreaked havoc long before the internet’s existence. Such comparisons force me to reject such perceptions about the internet. It offers numerous advantages like online education and marketing. Most significantly, it connects us with anyone, anywhere in the world, fostering a sense of global community.

We can observe around us that the internet does have its downsides; some people become glued to screens until their eyes can no longer bear it. Many people seek refuge from the world by turning to the internet to chat with online friends, watch movies, play games, or scroll through social media. Internet enthusiasts often prefer this virtual environment to the physical one. We must remember that the internet provides opportunities to learn and pursue interests. I am sorry to say that not everyone can experience its benefits.

For me, the internet expands our horizons and encourages self-discovery. For instance, if you follow a photography page on a social media platform, you might develop an interest in photography. Eventually, you might share your photos with the world and discover a passion for photography as a career. The internet has the power to unlock creativity and ignite the spark which is wants to be recognized. Sometime, I am thinking that some traditionalists refuse to acknowledge its evolutionary impact on people and society.

I also read some critics who blame the internet for making Generation-Z the loneliest ever. However, every generation has experienced loneliness. Before the internet, what or who was responsible for loneliness back then? The internet has indeed turned the world into a global village, making people more aware of global events. It can serve as a powerful tool to either decorate the world with pearls or with embers.

I want to urge parents and teachers to educate children on how to use the internet responsibly. They should teach effective use of tools like Google. Many of us have learned to navigate the internet on our own, but proper guidance can teach us to use it more effectively. The internet has a profound impact on our lives and environment. If more youngsters and teenagers learn to use it wisely, instead of wasting time on social media, they could contribute to making the world a better place.
