Panjgur Protesters Face Police Action as Strike Enters Third Day

Jarida Report

In Balochistan’s Panjgur district, a shutter-down strike entered its third consecutive day following a call by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). Police reportedly used tear gas to disperse protesters, with the BYC alleging that demonstrators faced “firing and state violence” while demanding an end to enforced disappearances and repression. Similar protests occurred in Kalat, where participants condemned enforced disappearances and police brutality. In Quetta, the BYC claimed security forces opened fire on peaceful demonstrators, resulting in critical injuries. Meanwhile, family members of detained BYC leader Dr. Mahrang Baloch reported limited access to her in Quetta District Jail.
