Pakistan’s Exports to Europe Surge to $7.55 Billion Amid Rising Textile Demand

Jarida Report

Pakistan’s exports to the European Union (EU) increased by 8.62% during the first ten months of fiscal year 2024–25 (July–April), reaching $7.553 billion, up from $6.954 billion in the same period last year. This growth is primarily attributed to higher demand for textile and clothing products across various European regions .

Regional Export Highlights:

•Western Europe: Exports rose by 10.04% to $3.791 billion, with countries like Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, and Belgium being major contributors.

•Northern Europe: Saw a significant increase of 17.39%, totaling $620.63 million.

•Southern Europe: Experienced a 3.62% growth, reaching $2.552 billion. Notably, exports to Spain increased by 2.75% to $1.232 billion, Italy by 1.62% to $934.04 million, and Greece by 12.81% to $123.05 million.

•Eastern Europe: Exports grew by 13.96%, amounting to $590.02 million.

Despite holding the GSP+ status, which allows duty-free access to most EU markets, Pakistan’s exports to the EU had declined by 3.12% to $8.24 billion in the previous fiscal year. The current uptick suggests a positive shift in demand, particularly in the textile and clothing sectors .
