Pakistani trio advance to Australian junior squash semi-finals

Three Pakistani sisters—Mehwish, Sehrish, and Mahnoor Ali—have advanced to the semi-finals of the Australian Junior Open squash tournament held in Melbourne. Mehwish, the top seed in the U-17 category, dominated Hong Kong’s Maeghan Wang with a straight-game victory of 11-6, 11-3, 11-2. She is set to face Australian Tina Ma in the semi-finals.

In the U-15 category, second seed Sehrish delivered a commanding performance, defeating Chelsea Paule 11-2, 11-3, 11-1. She will compete against Olivia van Zon in the upcoming semi-final.

Mahnoor, also in the U-15 category, remains undefeated in the tournament. She secured a dominant win over New Zealand’s Meriam Ibrahim with scores of 11-1, 11-0, 11-3, and is set to face Elizabeth Wang in the semi-finals.

The Ali sisters’ remarkable performances have garnered significant attention, showcasing Pakistan’s growing prominence in junior squash on the international stage.
