Pakistani Delegation Arrives in Washington to Finalize US Trade Agreement

A high-level Pakistani delegation led by Commerce Secretary Jawad Paal arrived in Washington on July 1, 2025, to finalize trade negotiations with the United States. Talks, ongoing for over a month, focus on reciprocal tariffs amid a 29% tariff on Pakistani exports. Islamabad aims to ease trade tensions by offering increased imports of U.S. goods, including crude oil, and opening its mining sector to American investment. The discussions also explore a long-term strategic and investment partnership. Both sides expressed satisfaction, expecting to conclude the deal this week
