Pakistan Strikes New Oil and Gas Reserves in Attock

Jarida Report

On September 5, Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) declared a huge hydrocarbon discovery at Attock with a production of 1,469 barrels of oil per day and 2.56 million cubic feet per day of gas of its discovery well.

The company officials are operating the well at a flowing wellhead pressure of 1,147 pounds per square inch gauge (psig) on a 32/64-inch choke. It is anticipated that the discovery will bolster the indigenous energy portfolio of Pakistan at a time when the country has to deal with rising import bills and fluctuating international oil prices.
