Pakistan PM Briefs Parliamentary Leaders On Ongoing Tensions In Middle East, Afghanistan Conflict

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday briefed various leaders of parliamentary parties on rising regional tensions. These include clashes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and the growing conflict in the Middle East, according to a statement issued by his office.

The meeting comes at a time when Pakistan has intensified military operations against the Afghan Taliban and other militant groups that have been targeting its civilians and security forces along the country’s western border. while the wider region faces heightened instability following recent US-Israeli strikes on Iran and retaliatory attacks across the Gulf. PM Shehbaz Sharif decided to call the session to update political leaders on the security situation and Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach amid rising tensions across the region.
