On April 13, 2025, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with a delegation of U.S. congressmen in Islamabad, asserting that Pakistan serves as a “wall between terrorism and the rest of the world.” He emphasized the need for international cooperation in combating terrorism and highlighted Pakistan’s significant sacrifices in this global fight.
The U.S. delegation, including Congressmen Jack Bergman, Tom Suozzi, and Jonathan Jackson, discussed bilateral relations, counterterrorism efforts, and economic cooperation with Pakistani officials. Naqvi underscored the importance of intelligence and technology sharing in counterterrorism and welcomed the upcoming Pakistan-U.S. counterterrorism dialogue scheduled for June. He also expressed optimism about strengthening trade ties and ensuring investor protection.
This meeting marks a significant step in reinforcing Pakistan-U.S. relations, focusing on shared security concerns and economic collaboration.
