Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) clarified that no formal decision has been made to abrogate any bilateral agreements with India, despite recent remarks by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif suggesting the Simla Agreement is now inapplicable. Asif had cited India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty following the April 22 Pahalgam attack in occupied Kashmir as grounds for questioning the validity of the Simla Agreement, asserting that India’s actions have undermined its sanctity. However, the FO emphasized that, to date, no official steps have been taken to terminate any bilateral accords.
