Pakistan Drops Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan for Bangladesh T20 Series

Jarida Report

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has excluded Shaheen Shah Afridi, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan from the upcoming three-match T20 International series against Bangladesh, scheduled from May 28 to June 1 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. The squad selection is based on performances in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), which concludes on May 25. Shaheen Afridi, despite taking 12 wickets in 10 PSL matches, has been omitted, while Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are dropped for the second consecutive T20 series due to criticism over their slow scoring rates. Salman Ali Agha will captain the team, with Shadab Khan as vice-captain. New Zealand’s former coach, Mike Hesson, will lead the team, replacing Aaqib Javed. The series was rescheduled following recent tensions with India
