Pakistan Army Kills 31 Militants in Northwest Raids as TTP Signals Willingness for Talks

Jarida Report

On Monday the military said that security forces also killed 31 militants overnight in Bannu
and Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

An army statement reported the attacks were
directed at hideouts of fighters associated with Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Law
enforcement agencies claimed to have found weapons and ammunition at the locations. The
conflicts come after the TTP, which has been behind the increased number of attacks in the
northwest, announced willingness to restart peace negotiations with the government
provided they are guaranteed with credibility.

Since Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in
2021, Pakistan has been experiencing an increase in the militant violence, and the areas
around the borders are the most vulnerable.
