Mutilated Camel in Sanghar Stands Again After a Year with Prosthetic Leg

Jarida Report

A camel named Cammie, whose leg was cruelly severed in Sindh’s Sanghar district last year—allegedly by a landlord for grazing on crops—has stood up for the first time in over a year with the help of a custom-made prosthetic leg. After months of rehabilitation at Karachi’s CDRS Benji Project shelter, Cammie’s recovery was made possible through the support of vets, animal rights activists, and international prosthetics expert Derrick Campana. The case sparked widespread outrage and drew attention to Pakistan’s weak animal welfare laws outside of Islamabad.
