Motown Singer Smokey Robinson Sued for Sexual Assault by Four Former Housekeepers

Jarida Report

Motown legend Smokey Robinson is facing a $50 million lawsuit filed by four former housekeepers who allege repeated sexual assault and rape over nearly two decades. The women, identified as Jane Does, claim the assaults occurred between 2007 and 2024 at Robinson’s residences in California and Las Vegas. They allege that Robinson used coercion, threats, and physical force to prevent them from escaping during the assaults. One plaintiff asserts she was assaulted over 20 times during her employment. The lawsuit also names Robinson’s wife, Frances, accusing her of creating a hostile work environment and ignoring her husband’s alleged misconduct. The plaintiffs, who are Hispanic and reportedly earned below minimum wage, state they feared retaliation and immigration consequences, which deterred them from reporting the abuse earlier. Robinson has denied the allegations, with his attorney labeling the lawsuit as an extortion attempt and pledging to seek its dismissal.
