On April 6, 2025, the Mandi Bahauddin Press Club was demolished during an overnight anti-encroachment operation conducted by the district administration. Press Club President Zaheer Khan stated that the demolition occurred without prior notice, resulting in the destruction of records and property. Deputy Commissioner Faisal Saleem, however, asserted that the action was part of a broader initiative to remove 24 government-owned shops to alleviate road congestion and construct a pedestrian footpath. He claimed that journalists had previously agreed to relocate the press club.
