Lahore Gulberg Hotel Fire Kills 3, Dozens Injured

A sudden fire broke out in the basement of a local hotel in Lahore’s Gulberg area, claiming three lives, injuring five, and prompting the rescue of 180 people. Rescue 1122 spokesperson confirmed that the bodies of the deceased – identified as Imran, Shehryar, and Riaz – were recovered from the hotel. Shehryar was 23 years old, while Imran and Riaz were both 30. The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to Rescue 1122, immediate action was taken following the alert. Twenty-one emergency vehicles and 80 personnel, including officers, participated in the search and rescue operation. The operation focused on the basement levels, with Basement 1 being severely affected. The hotel is a 19-storey building covering an area of four kanals, with three basement levels. Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman confirmed that the fire was confined to the basement and that 180 people had been safely evacuated. No one remains inside the building.
