On May 10, 2025, Lahore witnessed widespread celebrations following the Pakistan Army’s military operation, Bunyan-um-Marsoos, launched in response to India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’. The operation targeted Indian military infrastructure, leading to a ceasefire brokered by the United States. Citizens took to the streets, waving national flags, chanting slogans like “Pakistan Zindabad,” and expressing solidarity across political lines. The ruling PML-N organized a rally on The Mall, where participants burned effigies of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian and Israeli flags. Political leaders, including Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, lauded the army’s actions. Social media platforms were inundated with supportive messages and memes, countering Indian narratives. The Home Department urged law enforcement and civil defense agencies to remain vigilant.
