Work while you work — play while you play —
This is the motto of every day;
All that your hand finds to do withal,
Do it with a zeal that will not pall.
The hours fly swift and the years roll by
And the idle soul hears the years’ sad cry;
But the busy heart and the earnest will
Find a noble joy and a purpose still.
No gem so precious, no crown so fair,
No treasure wrought with more patient care
Than the sense of strength that comes to him
Who conquers fear though the outlook be grim.
