KP Minerals Bill Sparks Uproar Over Provincial Autonomy

Jarida Report

The proposed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mines and Minerals Bill, 2025, has faced strong opposition from political parties and civil society, who claim it violates the Constitution and the 18th Amendment by undermining provincial control over natural resources. At a multi-party conference hosted by the ANP, leaders demanded its immediate withdrawal, warning of mass protests if it proceeds. The bill, still under provincial review, has also created tensions within the ruling PTI and raised concerns of federal-provincial conflict.
