KP Govt Calls Action Against Kurram Miscreants “Unavoidable”

Jarida Report

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to take decisive action against miscreants in Kurram District following months of escalating violence. The unrest, which began in November 2024, has claimed over 170 lives, with deadly attacks in Lower Kurram sparking widespread clashes over land disputes. Despite a ceasefire on January 1, assaults on government and aid convoys have persisted. Authorities plan to launch a limited counter-terrorism operation in the area, with over 1,000 families set to be relocated to temporary camps. The government has called on locals to support law enforcement efforts to restore peace.
