The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has expanded its Sehat Card program to include bone marrow transplants, cochlear implants, and thalassemia treatments, offering free medical care for these conditions. Previously, kidney and liver transplants were covered, but services were halted for nearly two years due to funding shortages. The government plans to establish an endowment fund to ensure sustainable financing for these treatments. Cochlear implants and thalassemia treatments will be available at Hayatabad Medical Complex, kidney transplants at the Institute of Kidney Diseases, and liver and bone marrow transplants at Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital in Islamabad.
