Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has announced the formation of a force aimed at securing the release of PTI founder Imran Khan. Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Sohail Afridi stated that he had been assigned the responsibility of leading a street movement by the party’s founding chairman. He alleged that court orders were being disregarded and that access to personal physicians was being denied.
The chief minister declared the creation of the “Imran Khan Release Force,” saying the group would be formally registered and would pursue a peaceful struggle. He announced that members of the force would take an oath in Peshawar on February 22, shortly after Eid. Afridi stated that the force would operate under a defined chain of command, and leadership responsibilities would be assigned by Imran Khan himself.
