Karachi Brothers Kill Father After He Pressured Them to Focus on Studies

On May 14, 2025, two brothers, Mohammed Ibrahim (24) and Afzal (21), were arrested in Karachi for allegedly murdering their father, Khawar Anjum, 60. The incident came to light when police stopped the brothers during a routine patrol in F.B. Area, Block-15, and discovered a suspicious bag containing their father’s body. According to police reports, the brothers confessed to poisoning their father with a pesticide-laced cold drink, stabbing him to death once he was unconscious, and attempting to dispose of his body. CCTV footage corroborated their movements, showing them transporting the body from a seminary. The motive appeared to stem from their reluctance to pursue education or return to their village in Mirpurkhas to manage agricultural responsibilities, as their father had suggested.
