Five senior PTI leaders currently held in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail—Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Dr Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, and Mahmoodur Rasheed—have issued a joint letter demanding immediate, free and fair elections in Pakistan.
They voiced deep concern over rising instability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, warning that both regions are being neglected despite their strategic importance and rich mineral resources. The letter also criticized the government’s handling of ties with Afghanistan and worsening security conditions, urging that only a fresh mandate can bring political and economic stability to the country.
