Israel Launches Massive Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon, Killing One and Injuring Eight

On May 8, 2025, Israeli warplanes launched one of their heaviest bombardments in southern Lebanon since last year’s ceasefire with Hezbollah. Dozens of airstrikes targeted the Nabatieh region, approximately 12 kilometers from the Israeli border, causing massive explosions that echoed across the area. The Lebanese Health Ministry reported at least one fatality and eight injuries. Residents, gripped by panic, evacuated schools and sought shelter as smoke billowed from the hills. Israel has conducted regular strikes in Lebanon since the ceasefire ended.
