Islamic State Claims Responsibility for Suicide Bombing at Afghan Bank

Jarida Report

The Islamic State (IS) group has claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing at a bank in Kunduz, northern Afghanistan, which killed eight people. The attack targeted Taliban government employees who had gathered to collect their salaries. Despite the Talibans efforts to maintain security since regaining power in 2021, IS continues to challenge their rule with such attacks. This incident follows a similar bombing in March 2024 outside a bank in Kandahar, also claimed by IS.
