Ishaq Dar Begins Three-Day China Visit to Discuss Regional Tensions and Cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar embarked on a three-day official visit to China on May 19, 2025, at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The visit aims to address the evolving regional situation in South Asia, particularly following recent tensions between Pakistan and India. During his stay from May 19 to 22, Dar will engage in discussions with his Chinese counterpart to review bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest. Afghanistan’s interim Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi is also expected to participate in the talks to discuss regional peace and security.
