IRSA Warns of Water Shortages as Dams Approach Dead Levels

Jarida Report

The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) has issued an advisory to all four provinces, warning of potential declines in water levels at Tarbela and Mangla dams, possibly reaching dead levels in the coming days. Despite recent rains that positively impacted water scarcity, Punjab currently faces a 20% water shortfall, while Sindh experiences a 14% deficit. IRSA cautions that without further rainfall, the water shortfall could escalate to 35%, urging relevant departments to adopt precautionary measures.
