Iran’s Khamenei Rejects U.S. Nuclear Proposal, Affirms Commitment to Uranium Enrichment

Jarida Report

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has firmly rejected a U.S. nuclear proposal, emphasizing that halting uranium enrichment contradicts Iran’s national interests and the principles of self-reliance. Speaking during a televised address marking the anniversary of Ayatollah Khomeini’s death, Khamenei stated that uranium enrichment is central to Iran’s nuclear program. The U.S. proposal, mediated by Oman, suggests a multinational consortium for uranium enrichment, which Iran insists must operate within its borders.
