Speaking during a televised address marking the anniversary of Ayatollah Khomeini’s death, Khamenei stated that uranium enrichment is central to Iran’s nuclear program. The U.S. proposal, mediated by Oman, suggests a multinational consortium for uranium enrichment, which Iran insists must operate within its borders.
