Iran Pulls Ambassadors from European Capitals in Protest over UN Sanctions

Jarida Report

Iran has also withdrawn its ambassadors to the United Kingdom, Germany, and France due to a fresh push to re-impose U.N. sanctions. On Saturday, Tehran announced the diplomatic protest after a Security Council procedure, backed by Western powers, reinstated the restrictions initially linked to the nuclear program of Iran. The decision symbolizes the anger of Iran on what the country perceives as the unwarranted meddling in its domestic and regional policies.

Officials in Tehran noted that consultations were going on to see what other diplomatic action to take. European governments are still silent on the matter but analysts are concerned that the dispute may escalate further because Iran is under increasing economic pressure and is working to enhance their relationships with Russia and China due to deteriorating relations with the west.
