Iran Launches Missile Attack Targeting U.S. Base in Qatar; Explosions Rock Doha

Jarida Report

Doha, June 23, 2025 — Tensions in the Middle East escalated dramatically late Monday night as Iran reportedly launched a missile strike targeting the U.S.-run Al-Udeid airbase in Qatar. Multiple explosions were heard across Doha, prompting panic among residents and a swift lockdown of the city’s airspace.

According to diplomatic and military sources, six missiles were fired in what is believed to be a retaliatory strike following recent U.S. attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. A Western diplomat confirmed a “credible Iranian threat” had been detected hours earlier, triggering heightened alert levels.

While the missiles were aimed at military installations, there have been no confirmed reports of casualties or structural damage so far. Both the U.S. and U.K. embassies in Doha issued emergency advisories, instructing all personnel to shelter in place.

Qatari authorities quickly shut down civilian airspace and launched emergency protocols, while U.S. military forces assessed the extent of the threat and possible response measures.

This marks the first direct Iranian missile action targeting a Gulf state hosting American forces in the current crisis. Regional leaders are now calling for restraint amid fears of a broader conflict engulfing the Persian Gulf.
