In a bid to address widespread power theft in Sindh, the government has deployed intelligence officers to assist the Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco). A specialized Disco Support Unit (DSU) has been established for a two-year period to implement anti-theft measures. This decision follows persistent financial losses and operational inefficiencies in the power sector, with theft cited as a primary challenge. The government has also vowed to prosecute offenders and recover unpaid dues. The initiative aims to restore accountability and ensure consistent electricity supply to the region.
