Indonesia Interested in Expanding Defence Ties With Pakistan

Lieutenant General (r) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Monday.

The high-level meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, evolving regional and global security dynamics, and exploration of avenues to enhance bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries. Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening institutional linkages, training collaboration, and defence industrial cooperation. Discussions included ways to advance joint training exercises, capacity-building initiatives, and knowledge exchange across defence sectors.
