New Delhi announced that it will host an important policy round-table this week with global technology leaders, regulators, and lawyers to discuss the new frontiers of digital governance. The meeting is timed as India needs to improve its data protection system, but balances between innovation and regulation. Artificial intelligence regulation, cyber security, and cross-boundary data flows are issues on the agenda.
According to the officials, the move represents the desire to be a digital policymaker in the world. The discussions shall also be involved in updated Indian digital law preparation, to be presented at the end of this year.
